Summer and Joe had a dreamy DIY wedding at the Vista of Maine in Greene, Maine. Although the weather showcased itself in all forms (in true New England style), we were able to squeak everything through before the rain. LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

There’s something magical about a wedding that feels like a true celebration of love, family, and community, and Summer and Joe’s wedding was exactly that. Their love story unfolded like a whirlwind romance, proving that when you know, you just know. Three months after meeting at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) in Virginia, they were in front of their favorite people beaming with excitement as they stepped into their next chapter together.

ALL SEASON WEATHER IN ONE DAY

The Vista of Maine was the perfect backdrop for their June wedding, blending the beauty of nature with the warmth of loved ones gathered in celebration. Summer, having grown up in Maine, knew she wanted to exchange vows surrounded by the rolling hills and familiar landscape of her home state. The day itself showcased nature’s beauty in all its stunning variety—sunshine, dramatic clouds, a bit of rain, and, as if on cue, a breathtaking rainbow at their reception.

A FAMILY AFFAIR

With 200 guests in attendance, the atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter, and heartfelt moments. Summer and Joe embraced a wildflower palette with soft blush tones and rustic details, creating a warm and inviting setting that felt both intimate and grand. Family played a central role in every detail, with Summer’s family handcrafting all the floral arrangements and bouquets, and her cousin baking their wedding cake. Adding to the personal touches, Joe’s uncle, Dan, officiated the ceremony, making their vows even more meaningful.

A SURPRISING (AND MEMORABLE) DANCE

One of the most memorable moments of the day was Summer and Joe’s choreographed first dance. With surprise lifts and moves, they left their guests speechless. They had choreographed it themselves, making it a true expression of their personalities and the joy they share.

A RAINBOW TO TIE IT ALL TOGETHER

As the day transitioned into evening, nature gifted them one final, unforgettable wedding memory—a rainbow stretching across the sky, a symbol of the beauty and serendipity that had brought them together. It was the perfect ending to a day filled with love, laughter, and the promise of a bright future.
