MOODY SKIES & MOUNTAIN MAGIC | MEGAN & PETER’S SWEET SUNDAY RIVER WEDDING
Some love stories are just meant to unfold in their own sweet time. Megan and Peter’s sweet late summer wedding day at the Jordan Hotel at Sunday River felt like the perfect chapter in their beautiful, long-awaited story.
On August 13, 2022, the weather forecast kept us all on our toes with rain teasing us throughout the morning. However in true wedding day magic, the skies held off long enough to give us the most incredible overcast light (hello, dream!), moody mountain clouds, and an epic sunset painted in soft pinks and lavenders.
Their ceremony overlooked the basin of the mountain, and honestly, it couldn’t have been more picturesque. Surrounded by sweeping views and their closest family and friends, Peter got a little teary during their first look — and again when Megan walked down the aisle (cue all the collective “awwws”). It was one of those sweet moments that everyone could feel.
SURPRISE LECTURES & A DREAMY SUNSET
Then came the party — and let me tell you, this group knows how to celebrate! Peter’s best men stole the show during their toast when they surprised him (a seventh-grade teacher) by presenting him with a handmade student desk right there at the reception. They “lectured” him with hilarious, heartfelt advice, and it had the whole room laughing and cheering.
As the sun dipped below the mountains, Megan and Peter snuck away for golden hour portraits — and wow, they looked like they belonged on a mountaintop magazine cover. The sky turned dreamy shades of pink and lavender, and these two just glowed against the landscape.
When it was time to hit the dance floor, the energy skyrocketed. There was breakdancing and singing. There was even a spontaneous karaoke kick line! It was the kind of dance floor that just pulls you in — and no one wanted to leave.
A LITTLE BIT OF A SLOW BURN
Megan and Peter’s love story is the sweetest slow burn. They worked together as teens at a local restaurant (her as a hostess, him running food). They also attended the same college, but barely connected during their time there. It wasn’t until they both landed in Portland, Maine that fate (and a little “Peter!” message from Megan) finally brought them together. One six-hour chat over drinks at Bull Feeney’s later, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
Megan and Peter, your day was vibrant, joyful, and full of heart — just like the two of you. Thank you for letting me be part of your story. Here’s to a lifetime of sunsets, spontaneous dances, and sweet surprises.
