A WELCOME PARTY AT APRES

If Charlie and Lizzy’s wedding was the main event, their welcome party at Apres in Portland, Maine was the most joyful, taco-filled pre-party I could ever hope for. These two are pure sunshine — constantly giggling, totally in love, and completely obsessed with their people. From the moment I walked in, I knew their wedding weekend was going to be something really special.

Before their guests arrived, we snuck in a quick portrait session so Charlie and Lizzy could soak up every second of the celebration. And wow — they are the cutest. You can tell these two just adore each other. I honestly could’ve photographed them all evening!

Once the party started, it was nothing but good vibes. Even though it was down pouring outside, you’d never know it from the energy inside. The drinks were flowing — yes, including an alcoholic frozen slushy that I’m still dreaming about — and laughter filled every corner of Apres. Their families had put together the sweetest slideshow of Charlie and Lizzy over the years, and Charlie’s parents delivered a heartfelt (and hilarious) toast that had everyone beaming.

MUST LOVE TACOS

Then there was the food. Bird & Co. — my Portland go-to — came in hot with drool-worthy apps and then rolled out their food truck with the most delicious tacos. Seriously, I have dreams about those tacos. The second the rain let up, the Apres staff flung open the bay doors, and the party flowed outside into the humid summer air, carrying on well into the night.

I was treated like a guest from the moment I arrived, which says everything about the kind of people Charlie and Lizzy are — warm, welcoming, and wildly loved by everyone around them. After spending the evening surrounded by their tight-knit crew, I knew their wedding at Caswell Farm was going to be incredible… and spoiler alert: it was.
