WHIMSY & WONDER AT GILSLAND FARM

There’s something about Gilsland Farm that feels like a secret garden—rolling green hills, hidden pathways, wildflowers dancing in the breeze, and the occasional wild turkey strutting by. It’s easily one of my favorite spots to photograph in Maine. This golden spring family session in Maine with Jacqueline, Jeffrey, and their 9-month-old daughter, Bea, was nothing short of magical.

Jacqueline and Jeffrey made the drive all the way from New Hampshire to mark a special moment in their family’s journey—their sweet baby girl just shy of turning one. Let me tell you, Bea came to shine. From the moment they arrived, she was full of smiles, totally mesmerized by the world around her… and even more so by my camera!

MAIN CHARACTER ENERGY

Every time I lifted my lens, Bea lit up as she knew she was the main character of this session. She locked in, flashing these gummy, joy-filled grins that melted all of our hearts. It’s not every day you meet a baby who’s clearly ready for her close-up in every single shot.

The afternoon light was a dream—perfect for exploring little trails and soaking in the peaceful Audubon grounds. We wandered through wildflower patches and captured some truly sweet moments of Jacqueline and Jeffrey just loving on Bea.

Sessions like this are a reminder of how beautiful these fleeting stages of life are—how a baby’s giggle, a parent’s soft smile, and a golden summer afternoon can come together to create something truly timeless.
