Megan & Nate | Oceanside Beach Intimate Wedding | Maine Elopement Photographer

Weddings

the blog:

You might remember Megan and Nate from my portrait gallery featuring their super fun snowy engagement session. You can check it out here (trust me, it’s worth it)! These two have been planning their wedding for awhile now complete with a ceremony right on the beach and an awesome party at a historic home on the coast. I was so pumped to be able to see these two again, but then a pandemic struck the world. I was devastated for them and this gorgeous celebration they had been planning. Megan and Nate, though, turned lemons into lemonade! They pushed out their big wedding to the same date next year and decided that their love, indeed, was not cancelled. They eloped on their original wedding date and it seriously could not have been more perfect!

Megan and Nate got ready in their house with a picturesque waterfront vista. Kate, Megan’s sister did her hair and makeup and Megan’s friends checked in on her throughout the day to share their excitement, but also sadness that they couldn’t be with them on their big day. Megan got a gorg dress from BHLDN so that she could save her original dress to surprise everyone next year. Megan and Nate chose to have a first look in their backyard. It was so sweet and it was made that much sweeter when we got to take some quick portraits with their fabulous bunny! Keep scrolling to hear more about their day (and to see the bunny)

We met their parents in the parking lot right next to the beach as they hauled in coolers of champagne, an amazing little lemon cake, and beach chairs for the ceremony. The ocean was this unreal vibrant blue which just added to the beauty of their backdrop. Using a bluetooth speaker, Megan and Nate processed into their wedding, surrounded by their immediate family members. Nate’s mom officiated the ceremony with readings by both of their sisters. It was intimate and just so special. Smiles, laughter, and happy tears were had by all!

I am so thrilled that I was able to capture this moment for them. In light of all the uncertainty in the world, it was truly such a delight to be able to take in the beauty of this most perfect moment for Megan and Nate and celebrate with them. I can’t wait to do this all again with you guys at the same time next year! Until then, congratulations to you both and enjoy your first year of marriage xoxo
