Mary Catherine and JP changed their wedding drastically due to the pandemic. However, that didn’t change the amount of love and laughter had that day! They kept their original wedding date and decided to have their immediate family and closest friends witness the first day of their new adventure together. Mary Catherine and JP always intended on having their reception at JP’s family’s beautiful oceanside home on Dingley Island in Harpswell. It was the most perfect backdrop to their intimate day. According to Mary Catherine, Dingley Island holds a special place in their hearts as they spent many family gatherings and July 4th celebrations there ever since they met in high school. Yup, that’s right! These two cuties are high school sweethearts!! **Swoon**, right?! Keep scrolling for more about their big day and their love story.
They decided to get married in Yarmouth at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They were SO excited to be able to officially tie the know after nine years of dating. Mary Catherine shared a bit of her love story with JP : “We started dating while we were both in High school. Who would have thought 9 years later, here we are! We absolutely love to travel and have done and seen some amazing places in the world together. We are always open to new adventures (ie moving out to California for a few years just for new adventures), but especially ones that now MUST include our 1st fur baby Remi. Our lives very much revolve around him now! We moved back to Maine because it has a special place in our hearts – it’s where we met and grew up together and so many special milestones for our relationship were here.” Have you noticed Remi popping up in a few of Mary Catherine’s getting ready photos? This pup didn’t want to be more than a few inches from his mom all day. In fact, his spot of choice was curled up on the train of her dress. It was seriously the cutest! Keep scrolling for more pretties AND, of course, more Remi…
Yup, Remi, literally didn’t stray far from his mom all day. He appeared in most of their family formals and made appearances in Mary Catherine and JP’s wedding portraits. Seriously, their full gallery could have a whole section devoted to him. Mary Catherine and JP had a mixed weather kind of day. They got to see beautiful sunshine, but also thunderstorms and crazy rain. We kept having to dart out in between the rain showers to capture their family formals and wedding party. However, later in the afternoon, the sun came out in full force just in time for their portraits and dinner! Mary Catherine and JP had their first dance under the shade of the biggest and beautiful tree on their property while their family watched on the porch. The entire day was so perfect and made my heart so full to photograph this most special moment for them. Congratulations you two xoxo
