Devin and Evan were my first full wedding of the 2020 year. That is so hard unbelievably strange to say as their wedding was in the middle of August, but here we are in the middle of a pandemic so…I had met Devin and Evan in the beginning of March, before the pandemic hit the US, at my studio in Brunswick for their engagement session. They were the absolute cutest with each other and I knew that their wedding would be the most adorable (and I was not wrong). The Preserve at Chocorua is one of my favorite venues in New Hampshire. Everything is literally stunning and they are so conscientious of details that it is a photographer’s paradise. Despite the very moody skies and foreboding weather forecasts, it did not rain at all on their big day. However, it did make for some dramatic backdrops throughout the whole day. Are you ready to see some gorgeousness?! Keep scrolling to hear about their love story and to see more pretties from their big day!
Devin sent me a little blurb about their adorable love story. She said, “We met at Stonehill College in 2011 in an Environmental Science class. We were friends for a few years during college while Evan studied abroad and I did the following year. Once Evan graduated in 2013, we started dating more seriously and finally became official. After college, Evan was working his dream job as a police officer and I worked for various non-profits. In the Spring of 2016, we moved in together to a condo in Dorchester, MA. Working opposite schedules with Evan working nights, we quickly decided a dog was the missing piece and adopted Meadow as a puppy. Many hikes, beach days at the Cape, visits to breweries, and scrabble games later, we were ready for the next step. Evan proposed on New Years Eve at home after dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. We already had plans to go to a New Years Eve party at a friend’s house so it quickly turned into an impromptu engagement party and we celebrated the night surrounded by friends.”
Devin and Evan chose to not have a wedding party as they couldn’t choose between all their amazing friends and family members. Rather, they wanted to celebrate with everyone throughout their day and opted to do a first look at Lake Chocorua only minutes down the road. (It was gorgeous, guys, highly recommend!) They also chose to have their family portraits taken before the ceremony so they could really hang out with their guests afterwards. Their wedding was laid back and fun! Devin made all of the bouquets and arrangements herself as she really wanted to have fun pops of color throughout her big day. I was so impressed with how beautiful her bouquet and the table arrangements were! I’m so thankful that they chose me to be their wedding photographer. Despite what this year has been, Devin and Evan never lost sight of what they wanted their big day to be. I am so happy they were my first wedding of the year and I am excited to be able to share with you some highlights from their big day. Congratulations to both of you xoxo
